A beech forest between volcanoes, “Fageda in Jordan”
La Fageda d’en Jordà is one of the 26 reserves in the Garrotxa Natural Park.

The Beech in Jordan, is a forest in 550 meters, a low altitude to be on volcanic land arranged in small hills of so-called volcanic material “tossols”, coming from the Croscat and Santa Margarida volcanoes. These two badges, fa from the single zone to Europe.

How to visit La Fageda d’en Jordà?
There are two options to choose from depending on the need and preferences. Admission to La Fageda is free and you can leave your car in the car park 4 € and where you will find both the information office and the horse-drawn carriages.
For the more explorers, walking routes
If you want to go on your own, you have time and desire to contemplate the landscape on foot, enter the walking area. The information office will give you maps with possible circuits. There is a very short path, simple and circular from where you can see the leafiest part in no more than half an hour.
For slightly longer walks, highly recommended to get to the La Fageda Dairy Farm, and take a guided tour to get up close and personal with how they make their famous yoghurts. There, the Cows enjoy nature and classical music! If you don't know the story, you have the opportunity to be told on this visit.
If you go with children or people with reduced mobility or do not feel like walking, get on a horse-drawn carriage.

Halfway, you can stop for a walk and take photos of the beautiful beech landscapes. The guide on board the carriage will tell you all the details, in an entertaining and enjoyable way. And if you go with kids, they will be able to sit in front to see the horse up close. If the day breaks and it starts to rain, don't worry, the cart is covered and the road is also very beautiful watching the rain fall to the ground and smelling the different smells that the water gives off when it falls on the vegetation of the place.
The Fageda d’en Jordà is a mystical place, has been a source of inspiration for artists; painters and poets such as Joan Maragall, who wrote the poem that made this little corner of the Pyrenees famous.
